This image took 80,000 frames to earn.
Shot on a Canon 1DX Mark II with a 600mm f/4, the other 79,999 weren’t all failures. Many were keepers. But I wasn’t chasing a keeper. I was chasing perfection.
The focus had to land exactly where it mattered. The background had to fall away with clean separation. The light had to be even, the detail crisp, the texture intact, almost like it was made in a studio. The bear’s left arm needed to sit poised behind the action, and the fish had to be suspended midair, launching toward you, the viewer.
This is a limited edition print. The first print was displayed and sold at Cloud Gallery NYC, Wall Street.
